Job Title: Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician

Our equipment division, PD Properties & Rentals Inc. has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician at our NE Edmonton Facility. This permanent, full time position is Monday to Friday (7:30 to 4:00) with paid overtime; 40 hours per week with benefits. Salary range $35 to $40 per hour to start depending on knowledge, skill and experience of the successful candidate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing the mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of a large, varied fleet of Heavy Industrial Equipment. Our fleet includes (but is not limited to) gas and diesel powered units, vehicles, blast & vac units, generators, compressors & dust collectors.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality work.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Valid class 5 driver’s license required.
Must be able to pass pre-access Drug & Alcohol test.
Instruct apprentices, order parts and maintain inventory. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. A strong background in electrical and electronics, troubleshooting is desirable.

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.):
Heavy Equipment Technician Trade Certification. – Mandatory
Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement. – Desired
2 years or more
Speak English, Read English, Write English fluently

Type of Equipment Repair:
Our fleet includes (but is not limited to) heavy construction equipment with gas and diesel powered units, vehicles, forklifts, sandblast equipment, vacuum units, generators, compressors, dust collectors, telehandler and skidsteers.
Diesel Engine Repair Specialization:
Fuel injection systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, engine cooling systems.
Up to 23 kg (50 lbs.)
Security and Safety:
Driving record check (abstract), pre-Access drug test
Tools, steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Physically demanding, Attention to detail required
Work Site Environment:
New Shop, minimal outdoor work
Own transportation, valid Class 5 driver's license
