What began as a small pile cap coating contract evolved into a major undertaking where Park Derochie became the primary coating contractor for the LNG Canada project, consistently demonstrating our commitment to excellence.
Wins + Challenges
- Rapid Growth: Initially a small contract, the project expanded to require over 750 painters onsite at all times where we logged over 1,000,000 manhours of ‘Best in Class’ service
- Management Team: Early implementation of a strong management team enabled us to handle the rapid increase in manpower while maintaining top levels of quality and safety
- High-Quality Requirements: The project had extremely high-quality standards and a tight schedule, necessitating the deployment of our best personnel from across the country
- Technical Support: Over 200 STOPAQ trained and certified applicators, dozens of trained and certified TSA applicators, in-house training and certification, Technical Deviation preparation and implementation

- Quality: Park Derochie was honored as the Quality Contractor of the Month 4x and the Quality Contractor of the Quarter 1x (most of any contractor worldwide), reflecting our dedication to superior service and quality
- Leadership: Two members of our leadership team were awarded Exceptional Leadership awards from JFJV

- Safety: Members of our team received IIF Champion (Incident and Injury Free) recognitions, which is the world-class site safety program at the LNG Canada Project and represents a strong vision and action towards the Safest Project on Earth
Behind the Scenes
- Hundreds of volunteer hours put back into the community:
- Assembling toys and furniture at the Tamitik Status of Women 24-Hour Childcare Facility in Kitimat
- Touching up the deck at the 50+ Centre in Kitimat
- Refinishing the exterior of The Royal Canadian Legion – Kitimat Branch #250
- Supporting a local veterinarian clinic refresh the look of their walls
- Joint venture with Gitga’at Development Corporation to provide revenue and Nation building opportunities for Gitga’at First Nation
- Giving back to the community:
- Raised $6,200 for The Royal Canadian Legion – Kitimat Branch #250
- Sponsorship in support of local First Nation Responders
- Raised $2,700 for Christmas Toy Drive
- Park Derochie sponsored Slo-Pitch team
